壽山動物園

台灣黃牛很早就從印度引進來台，和水牛一樣都是農民的好助手。體型小、毛短而密、角呈暗灰色、耳小而薄、鼻及口周圍顏色較白。 因環境變遷、農業機械化，畜養的黃牛急遽縮減，民國 77 年，畜產試驗所開始執行「臺灣黃牛種原保存計畫」，致力保存台灣黃牛本土種原。牛有四個胃，每天花5~9小時採食，進食後會進行反芻，食物從消化到排泄需要7、8天。 The Taiwan yellow cattle is as good a helper to farmers as the Taiwan buffalo. They have short and dense hair, dark gray horns, small and thin ears. The hair is lighter in color around the nose and mouth. They have four stomachs and spend 5 to 9 hours a day eating. It takes 7 to 8 days for their food to be digested and defecated.
