二趾樹懶分布於中南美洲，為夜行性獨居動物，被認為是世界上活動速度最慢的哺乳動物。大半輩子都懸吊在樹上生活，包括進食、睡眠、交配、育兒，一天能睡15小時。 樹懶前爪有兩趾，嗅覺敏銳，擅游泳，毛髮長滿藻類，整個身體看起來是深綠色，成為絕佳保護色。動作遲緩，心跳和胃的消化也很慢，由於消化道短小，食物留在其體內達一個月，每周排便一次。 The Linnaeus's two-toed sloths are the world's slowest moving animal. They spent most of their lives in trees, including while feeding, sleeping and breeding. Sloths sleep 15 hours a day and, due to its slow movement, their heartbeat and metabolism are also very slow. Food will stay in the sloth's body for almost one month, and they defecate once a week. Although sloths move slowly on land, they are actually good swimmers and do well underwater.
