原產於西非，適應廣泛的棲息地環境，包括森林、草原及紅樹林沼澤等。身上的毛色呈現金黃色，略帶綠色，臉部為深藍色的皮膚，由柔軟的白色毛髮勾勒出臉部輪廓。綠猴有細長的半卷尾巴，以四足方式在地面或樹冠中行走，由於體重較輕，能夠靈活地在樹枝頂部行走。綠猴非常善於發聲，面對不同的捕食者和危險會發出不同的叫聲來提醒同伴注意危險。 Chlorocebus sabaeus (the green monkey) is found almost exclusively in West Africa. They easily adapt to a wide range of habitats, including forests, grassland and mangrove swamp. Covered in thick golden fur with a green tint, which is how they get their common name, green monkeys. The face is hairless, but is covered with dark blue skin outlined by a soft line of white fur. Like other monkeys, they have long, slender, semi-prehensile tails. They travel quadrupedally on the ground or in tree canopies. Being relatively light, green monkeys are able to nimbly travel on the tops of branches using all four limbs. Green monkeys are very vocal primates. They have evolved a unique call for each predator. Vocalizations serve mainly to alert local members to danger.
