The Linnaeus's two-toed sloths are the world's slowest moving animal. They spent most of their lives in trees, including while feeding, sleeping and breeding. Sloths sleep 15 hours a day and, due to its slow movement, their heartbeat and metabolism are also very slow. Food will stay in the sloth's body for almost one month, and they defecate once a week. Although sloths move slowly on land, they are actually good swimmers and do well underwater.
